About Me

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my website and checking out my work! 

My name is Shannon (they/she), and I am from Boston, MA. (I will be located in New York City starting in September, 2025).  My professional background is in Biochemistry and Journalism. I am a producer for Big Picture Science, a science radio show and podcast that airs on NPR-affiliated stations across the U.S. and Canada. I am also a freelance science journalist currently working with the Civic Science Media Lab as a news correspondent. 

I am passionate about science communication, LGBTQIA+ issues, and astrobiology. I enjoy combining my love of illustration and narrative storytelling to create unique content that is not only entertaining, but eye-opening to the many wonderful and weird facets of the natural world we inhabit.

In my free time, you can find me reading comic books, playing TTRPGs, and making art. I am also a local drag performer - go drag kings! Currently, I'm attempting to learn guitar and writing a horror comic set in a coastal New England town.
